Distant Worlds 2 - Mortalen Trailer

Slitherine Games hired me to create a second trailer introducing one of the alien races in their upcoming game Distant Worlds 2. Slitherine supplied the ship models but I fixed them up and got them looking good to render well in cycles. They also did all the sound effects, music, and voiceover.
The nebula at the beginning was rendered in E-cycles Nebula and layered over the planets and ships.

I'm still getting the hang of animations and I think the nebula fell a bit short in this one compared to my usual work. The sound track was a lot more intense than I expected when I was creating this animation!
